Tokyo 08 - Arrival & Skyliner ride to Ueno

Me and 2 other friends stop-over at Tokyo from our returning flight from US for a short 2 days holiday. We arrived at Narita airport on 12th Aug in the late afternoon and took the Skyliner express train ride to Ueno (where the hotel is).

There are plentiful trains & train companies in Japan, and the Skyliner is meant for airport to city/vice versa transportation. It cost 1920yen and there are much cheaper (longer ride time and less confortable) alternatives to get to the cities. But as a 1st time visitor to Japan, i wanted to make it as comfortable as possible, also with that short duration of 2 days, saving wasn't really an option.

Me in Skyliner express train, feeling relief from the safe 8hrs flight from US.

Some of the views between Narita and Ueno.

And our 3 bedded suite room (supposed to be the biggest) in Sutton Place hotel Ueno http://www.thehotel.co.jp/en/sutton_ueno/index.php

Soon after settling down, we went to a nearby eating place (some sort of tempura joint) for dinner.

And for 730yen (9SGD), this is the yummy set ive gotten.

Rest of the night was spend roaming around the center of Ueno and Ameyoko, an outdoor shopping arcade.
